Let the planning commence!

After years of house hunting and talking about getting married. We have finally gotten engaged, bought a house and moved, and now are in the midst of planning our wedding.

This year has certainly been hectic, but it’s been worth it.

We had started planning our wedding last Fall, but then delayed finalizing things as we had found the house that we wanted. We were able to make an offer, close on the house, and move in a very short period of time. We moved in right before Christmas and have been unpacking and organizing since. Anyone who has moved knows how much fun that is.

So now that we are mostly settled and things are falling place with the house, we are back to planning our wedding. Thankfully when I started planning, I started a notebook for all my ideas. I also started a secret FB group with a few family/friends to bounce ideas off of.

We had already picked the date and venue we wanted. Now we needed to make sure that the venue was still available since we hadn’t booked it. With the move, we weren’t sure if we were going to need to delay the date. Thankfully the venue is in fact available! I am going to meet with the coordinator this weekend.

In our preliminary planning, we did talk to those we wanted in the Bridal Party, started our guest list, talked about colors, and other things we wanted for the wedding. So, happy I created the notebook, started a wedding folder on my computer and created boards on Pinterest to save my ideas.

We ordered and already received our rings!! So excited about them. You will have to wait until my after-wedding post to see some of the details like the rings. I definitely don’t want to show the details beforehand.

We are having a Fall Wedding so we will be incorporating Apples, Pumpkins, and Sunflowers.

I would like to make chocolate and caramel covered apples.
Any tips for making a lot of these?

We are now gathering quotes for a DJ, photographer/videographer, cake, and flowers.
Any advice on questions to ask?

We are having a taco/fajita bar, as well as appetizers and drinks. We are looking into hiring servers and a bartender so that we can all just enjoy the wedding.
Have you hired servers before? Any advice?

I can’t wait to meet with the venue coordinator on Saturday. I will be taking pictures while I am there and I will share them in my next wedding planning post.
